Dr. Christopher Spellman was raised in San Diego County.  He attended college at the University of California at both the San Diego and Santa Cruz campuses, where he graduated with Honors.  Dr. Spellman earned degrees in both Biology and Psychology.  He then attended the Medical College of Wisconsin.  Next, Dr. Spellman completed a surgical internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.  He stayed in New York for his Ophthalmology training and served as Chief Resident at NS-LIJ University Medical Center.  Following his residency, Dr. Spellman completed fellowship training in Glaucoma at the world renowned New York - Presbyterian, Cornell Medical Center.  Throughout his training, he was involved in Glaucoma research.  Following his Glaucoma sub-specialty training, Dr. Spellman returned to San Diego County with his family.  He now lives in Carlsbad with his wife and two sons.
